I am far from a car stereo expert so I need a little help here. My stock 2.2 CL system just isn't getting it done for me anymore, but is it worth it to upgrade??? I don't want a loud system that can be heard from blocks away. I just want something with a smooth bass that has some punch. A system that is crisp and clear sounding even with the windows down at highway speeds. If any one thinks it is worth the upgrade, any sugestions would be helpful.
Also I am just looking to upgrade speakers and head unit.

 

Yeah I am glad I upgraded my system. I don't know how much you want to spend but, I got a component set and two subs. I haven't replaced my stock 6x9's yet though. I would strongly recommend getting a component set, this would make a big difference. They are a little pricey though for a good set. Then You could add a sub to help the low end. Also you will want an amp for the components and the sub. You might check out places like.... www.thezeb.com/zebaudio.html, www.caraudio1.com, or www.woofersetc.com. If you wanted to spend the money I would also recommend getting a new headunit. Alpine, clarion,and the upper end pioneer's are all good stuff. Good luck!

I replaced my headunit with a pioneer PEH-5900 i think thats what it is and it made a huge difference. I would like to add a ten or two next.
