Removing CD/radio question

I have 02TL and I want to remove the CD/radio unit. What part of the dash do I need to remove in order to get to the CD/radio unit? Do I need to remove the dash or the center console or both? Thanks!

You need to take the side trim off, the side pieces of the console, move the whole center console back and there are screws on either side of the radio, and also on the front of it, along with some pop in fittings.

Streeteffect,

I had figured it out how to remove the cd/radio. Thanks for the info. any way.

I figured out that you don/t need to remove the dash to get to the cd/radio as Nate had suggested.

I removed my cd/radio to do the LED project. I removed all the stock bulbs on the cd/radio and installed ultra red LEDs for the LCD, knobs, and buttons. Man it look so awesome! BMW or Audi lighting can't beat this at all.
