I dont know where the factory amp is. i tried searching, but no luck. can anyone tell me where it is?
well. while looking for it, i saw this harness. I was also told that yellow with green stripe is the remote for the amp.
can i tap this wire for the remote to aftermarket amp?


this is located on the left side of the trunk, under the left rear speaker.

 

The factory amp is smack in the middle of your console, behind the flip compartments. Sorry, don't know about the yellow/green wire.

 

I also have heard that the RTO wire is in the trunk going to the R window antenna amp in the C pillar.

Do you have a voltmeter? You can test it, and should - especially if it's the same color as the RTO wire at the amp (which I believe it is but double-cehck me...)

Even if someone tells you it's the right wire, you should never attach to any wire like that if you don't test it and verify it yourself.

 

i never used a voltmeter, but what will i look/test for with it?

 

Set it to DC, 20V range or so, take the black probe to ground (in the trunk find bare metal - either the trunk latch hasp, or a ground screw on the underside of the R deck?)

Then probe the wire, and turn the radio on and of. It should only show 12V (+) with the radio on.

 

wth .. so the HU's output wires runs all the way to the trnk .. then connects to that harness .. then runs all the way back up front to the amp which is located in the middle console???? if it is .. that's a stupid wiring diagram

 

The HU's RTO output runs BOTH to the OEM amp AND to this connector with the RTO in it, which goes to the FM amp in the C pillar.

The wiring diagram is an inanimate object. Probably doesn't have stupidity or lack it.
