Are the 20 pin connector pin config the same on the radio and amp end?

Thanks group.

WHAT KIND OF CAR?

ON the TSX, the 20-pin is the Amp OP to the speaks, and the 14-pin is the Amp input from the HU - so, no.

I noticed that there is one 20 pin connector on the HU and one on the amp.
Are the pin config the same on it? Sorry for the confusion.

There's a chart somewhere in here that tells you what wire is what. What are you trying to accomplish?

I don't think they are the same. I think he's trying to install the Parrot Bluetooth kit.

I'm thinking he is trying to splice into the speakers inputs going into the amp so that the kit can mute the car stereo.

That is exactly what I'm trying to do. Thank you TSX536.

The pin diagram that I got from this forum is for the radio unit.
I tried to look all over the forum and online to get confirmation but no luck.

I don't wanna get electricuted while splicing and dicing this sucker.

That's the one I was talking about. Too lazy to search for it... I have a copy on my PC.

They wrapped an extra noise shield around all four of the signal pairs. According to the manual this shield is only grounded at the amp end (standard noise shield practice - make the ground the drain at the downstream).

In the installs I've done it doesn't matter if the extra shield is grounded or not. Theoretically it should be taken to chassis ground, but it doesn't hurt anything if it isn't, as far as I can tell. The times there have been noise grounding those wires did not help at all, and lifting the ground did not ADD noise.

so let me get this straight ..

The two shielding wires aren't really useful
Driver's (-) and (+) makes up Front Left RCA
Passenger's (-) and (+) makes up Front Right RCA
Right Rear's (-) and (+) makes up Right Rear RCA
Left Rear's (-) and (+) makes up Left Rear RCA
B7-YEL/GRN-Audio Unit makes up the Remote Turn on wire

Is that right?

1) As the diagram clearly shows, there are four shielding wires, not two.

2) I was going to say that you don't need me to tell you what the diagram says...

: )

honestly, if you use signal (+) for the center, use signal (-) for the RCA shield, and either ground or float the factory shield wires, you're fine. You can read the diagram as well as I can, you can figure out L and R and F and R as well as I can, read it, learn it, love it.

Let us know how it goes.
