Does anybody know if you can add remote start to the factory key fob?

Highly doubt it. No way to get the signal that the OEM fob transmits to be set to the autostart signal.

He's right... You'd have to get a whole new alarm system.

You might want to consider one of those Delta LCD alarms. They come with remote start. Anybody know how much it would cost to get that alarm installed? With the remote start and the trunk release (assuming I've already bought the system).

YES you can

With a good installer and the correct remote starter. My friend has done a few. Nothing to do with the factory FOB signal. If you press the factory door locks twice, the car will start. Press lock again, car will turn off.

You will need one of these to temporarily bypass the ignition immobilizer system:

This model does not require an additional key, which cost ~$45.

Well if you dont mind having 1 more remote, you can go with the viper remote starter system. Circuit city sells it, its $149 installed. well you might have to pay for extra wiring if needed.

you can use the factory remote like Bluto said. you choose which button you want (unlock/lock/trunk), tell the installer, and youll have to push it twice

I'd be careful with the one that integrates with the factory alarm. The range of the remote starter will be the same as your current setup (you have to be pretty close to the car). With a Viper, you get a stronger transmitter and antenna, giving you a good range to start the car.
