Question Remote Start

Has anyone had a remote starter installed on their TLs? I am looking to buy an ADD-ON remote starter, is it gonna work on the TLs?

Adding a remote start to the car is not a problem, you just need a spare key to work with the transponder unit to send the coded signal to the ignition upon start. I have a brand new Valet Start unit, with 2 remotes sealed in the box for sale. Email me if interested.

I just need the ADD-ON so I can use the factory remote....Did any of you install it yourself? If so, how long did it take? I think its time for me to order an extra key!

You just need a good installer to add it to your existing remote. A channel needs to be split to make this work....like you will have to hold down lock/unlock at the same time or something equivalent.

I have remote start on mine using the factory remote. I gave up my auto-trunk switch for auto-start. The only disadvantage bout using factory remote is the range, compared to a aftermarket remote.

thats a good idea...i am having problems with mine (using unlock 3x). It starts not prob, but say the car is running and i unlock the doors to get out, it looks like i turned my flashers on cause of the signal..I have had my car in and out of the place numerous times and finally was satisfied with just tapping the brake after i unlock the doors to get out with the car running.

I'm gonna go in there this week and tell them to use my trunk pop instead....I asked them about using the panic button and they said they can't. Didn;t ask why though
