Regular 8in sub?

I want to purchase another 8in sub for the 03TL. I looked at the sub and it looks like its thin?

Do I need a special type of 8in sub for the 03tl?

thanks for your help.

There is a DIY thread on this. I believe Kicker makes the right subs for that. You need 2.25 inch mounting depth.

Why would you want another weak sub get at least 1 ten put it in a box and you will be fine. I personally prefer my 2 12" subs in my trunk. they will out slap anybody around. =)

What are you running? And you don't need 12s to get loud. Plus I think OP is just trying to get a bit more than stock, which an 8" sub IB'ed would do...

if you want to keep the factory look you can go with earthquake sws-8(xi) or if you can fit it there sws-10 sub. these subs would need an aftermarket amp to efficiently drive them

Pioneer FTW. And 2 12's in a TL? No thanks, I actually prefer to hear the words of the song I'm listening to.

My 2 10s are louder than most dual 12 setups, and I can hear the words just fine

I guess I'm old. lol. I just prefer a clean balanced sound, not hearing me from a block away.

Again, just because a setup is loud inside the car doesn't mean it's loud outside of it... You can barely hear my setup outside the car when playing music in the low to mid 130db range. I've stood right next to it in competition and I can barely hear it. The only reason most people know it's playing is by the number on the screen. The same thing goes for the Extreme cars that play 175-180db. While it is nearly impossible to completely contain that kind of pressure, they are still very quite outside of the car...
