Recommended power tap source in trunk?

I want to install a NEO MP3 Jukebox in my trunk, is there an easy or recommended power source that I can tap from for the player that veteran installers can recommend to me? I was thinking of using the power wire off of the DVD-NAV wiring harness... or perhaps the stock amp's harness? Good or bad?

Thanks in advance!

I'd say tap the amp wiring harness... it's not drawing that much power so the existing wire can handle it and easy to get to. I have some 20' long shielded RCA cables you can have if you want em (they came from some cheap wire kit from long ago). Don't forget you're going to have to power the FM modulator too (assuming you're using the stock headunit) cause I don't believe there is an aux. input unless you buy an aftermarket switch. Believe there is a post about said device on here somewhere.

Thanks Nihilistan ,

I figured the amp would be a good place also.. especially since it sounds like the NAV doesn't like to get messed with. Very cool of you to offer the cables, but I've already got a set. No FM modulator for me, especially since I've read all the stellar reviews on that AUX changer / RCA convertor. I've since found two or three retail brands on the market that make them now. I'm juggling back and forth with the "in trunk" NEO MP3 player and going with someone else like Creatives Nomad (for other portable uses.)

Thanks again!

hey man...I have a Neo MP3 player in my '01 CL. The harddrive unit is centered in the trunk with the display screen in where the sunglass holder is. My brother did the install himself but I am pretty sure he tapped the amp (do not know). To change from MP3 player to the head unit theres a rely switch near the driver side door to change from MP3 player to FM/CD player.

Connection might be slow so be patient. Its running off my server computer.

Again I dont know how to do this b/c I just inherted the car.

Heres the diagram for the amp.

Thank you much Monkeymato! Those diagrams will come in very handy! The sunglass holder mount is very slick, but I'm a little weary of fishing something like that through the headliner. Any idea how your brother got it through? Any tricks anyone?

Well I know he ran the wires from the trunk through the back seat and down the drivers side door. He took off the plastic panels near the door and ran it from there and then up the front pilar and into the sunglass holder I think. I'll ask him about it. Hope the diagrams are good.
