Radar detector hardwire to rear view mirror?

The rear view mirror on my car has some kind of leak in it which makes it very dark and hard to see with my window tint in the back. I have an escort 9500ix that I currently just run to the cigarette lighter. My question is if i can run the wiring of the auto-dimming mirror with the hardwire kit. I would be replacing the mirror with a non-dimming mirror because I have tint which helps with the glare anyway so i would rather have the hardwiring. Is this possible? Just a little soldering the wires right?

If you search there are members here that have tapped the overhead console for power. I went a different route and ran the power cord across the headliner, down the A-pillar and into the fuse box.

Here is one thread, but doesn't specifically tell you how to tap the overhead console. https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/radar-detector-installation-recommendations-547282/

Can be done easy. I'd still just run it to the fuse panel by the driver side. Going to the mirror dimmer wire you're going to have unsightly crimp caps hanging there. Additionally I like to put an inline fuse on the radar detector wire (this). Its even easier to wire it there than the mirror wire if you use fuse taps.

Ive done it on a 4G TL, bought a premade cable, has a inline fuse. I didnt crimp any wires or anything. Juat twisted the ends of the wires and pushed them in. Been in the car for a year, only iasue i had was when the sticky suction cups lost their stickiness and fell off, pulling the wires with it. Took 5 mins to put em back in thou. Lemme get on a desktop and ill post pics
