Quick new speakers wiring question
Is a harness required/make installation quicker/secure for installing new speakers into the doors.
I found this with the search button, anyone confirm this is the right one?
http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/howT...tores=true#tabs
and if it is a yes, i'll need 4? one for each door.
Gonna be doing my system install next weekend, everythings coming in this/next week !! excited , would liek to be prepared for anything while i dismantle my car for the install
-this is going into a tsx
thanks

Link doesn't work, but am guessing it's the honda speaker harnesses, around $10/pair. If you are not planning on running new wires to your speakers, then yes, these are a good option. Keeps you from having to cut your stock wires in the doors.

thanks, and if i run new wires, id just get crimp terminals right
also another question:
on the side of the speaker theres two terminals, i suppose one for + one for -
one of them is bigger than the other, which ones positive? looks exactly like this:

usually the larger one is positive.
as others will confirm, it is fairly easy to run wire to all the doors except the drivers door. that one is possible, but would take an experianced installer and a lot of time.
can i say something though without sounding like a jerk, because i don't mean to. these are all fairly basic questions. sounds like you are new to installing. nothing wrong with that. but, if that's the case, i'd really recommend taking it a pro. you have a really nice car. even though merc's harness helps a ton, still not an easy task to integrate aftermarket amps and all new speakers into a TSX. while we all need to do it to learn, i wouldn't recommend learning on your TSX. just my 2 cents. sorry if that came off as harsh, i didn't mean it to. just would hate to see you mess up your car.

im gonna be doing this with a friend whos done a few system installs and just wanted to ahve all the materials at hand so we dont have to make a bunch of runs for small stuff.
if i had the money i really would go get a professional installation, but money is tight these days. also, i kind of want to learn/watch it happen instead of just dropping off my car and not knowing what/how they did to it. I'm about 95% sure how to wire everything, its just the matter of actually taking apart the panels etc and running the wires and making spacers for the doors if needed (i think i only need to make them for the front doors, the polk 650db going in the back doors are pretty small), and PG provided a template for me to trace onto MDF and cut out so that shouldn't be too ahrd either
