Quick Audio Question

I currently have an aftermarket HU with the stock bose speakers. I'm going to replace the bose and my question is can I use the current wiring or do I need to run something stronger?

depends if you're adding an aftermarket amp to power the speakers... if you are, I'd run new wire. if not, you should be fine as long as the impedance is good (i heard Bose runs goofy impedance on their speakers...)

Depends on the speakers too, I used my stock wiring on my audiobahns for a while, but the stock wires are so tiny and brittle, you don't get much power through them

yep... that's why i replaced all my stock wiring with aftermarket stuff when i put in my speakers and 4-channel amp. It really isn't that hard to run new wires for everything... took maybe 2 hours for all new wires (2 runs into each door, and 2 runs each side for the rear deck...)

I ran all new 12 guage wire, but haven't gotten the amp wired up yet, waiting for the glass project to get underway

12 gauge ftw... I feel you on the glass projects... It's too cold to do it here, even though my new sub should be delivered today... And in order to build the new box for it, I have to tear apart my current amp rack (so the trunk will look worse) and then get working on my glass project...

If you want to just bypass the amp by looping the wires at the rear or if you want to tap your amp into the factory wiring, here are your wire colors. I've got a bunch written down from several CL's I have done.

Not liable if you burn your car down from using this (even though it is accurate).

Outputs from the amp (to the speakers):
+++++ ---- -
Front Left: White _____ Orange
Front Right: Yellow _____ Brown
Rear Left: Red _____ Green
Rear Right: Blue _____ Black

From the Deck:
+++++ ---- -
Front Left: Blue w/ Green stripe _____ Grey w/ Black
Front Right: Red w/ Green _____ Brown w/ Black
Rear Left: Blue w/ Yellow _____ White w/ Grey
Rear Right: Red w/ Yellow _____ Brown w/ White

Amp is by the rear pass tail light btw.
