Questions for those with Viper 550 remote start alarms...
I have a CL-S, but I figured it's the same electronics as the TL-S so...
I am having a few quirks with mine. The installer said it's the car.
I have to unlock the car with the viper remote before remote starting it. When I remote start first, the factory alarm goes off.
The car still starts though.
When I remote start the car, the stereo will not turn on. I have to put the key in & turn it to run like normal, then it goes on.
I don't know if it has any effect on #1, but I used the grey key that came with the car for the bypass.
Did the guy not wire it right?
Thanks

Sounds About Right
First of all, I don't know about the alarm - I never had this problem when I had one. Perhaps they did forget to connect a wire. Secondly, the gray key is your valet key and it should start the car just like any other key. Your radio will not turn on with remote start. This is normal. There is nothing (dare I say, unless you can go in and professionally rewire or bypass or whatever) you can do about this. This is how they make the system.

Thanks. Turns out they didn't wire it right because the guy couldn't find the wire. He had to call DEI to find it. It's fuxed now, & works like it should. The radio must be only on some cars. I have had 2 others put in other cars, & the radio has worked.

A local alarm shop did mine. The wire for disarming the factory alarm is inside the drivers door. It's by the little security light. They had to ground out the wire there to get it to work. This is on my 2002 CLS, so it should be the same for the TL. I would have them call the avital tech support # & ask them how to do it.
