Question on after market head unit fit

Hi,
This may sound like a dumb question, but I am thinking about buying a after market head that has a ipod interface. I have a 2001 CL with navi. I dont see how It would fit in the dash with the stock face plate. Do I have to buy an after market face plate?
If anyone has any pictures of their after market hu installed I would like to see them.

Are you talking about leaving the stock deck in there? Or are you talking about the trim ring around the factory deck? You'll have to pull the factory deck out of the car, and get an aftermarket trim ring (normally pretty cheap, and free if you buy from Crutchfield) so that the aftermarket deck fits into the stock mounting place.

OK,
After some research, I figured it out. I need a dash kit for any after market head unit that buy.
