Question about hooking up Iphone to factory headunit??

I want to hook my Ipone up to my factory headunit so I can Play music and charge it. I did a search and some people use a Blitzsafe iPod interface and found some people use Ice-Link . I want to hook it up to the back of the radio, I dont wanna tune it to a certain station or use a casset and then run the cable to my center console.
I wanna hear from people that have it , what kind do u have and how does it work.
There is no AUX button so what do u have to press to get to the ipod/iphone?
Can you control volume and tracks on the stock headunit using the buttons?
Can you fast-foward songs or rewind songs from the HU?
Do the buttons on the styeering wheel work, and does your charge the iphone/ipod while playing it?
I went on Blitzsafe's website and the have a couple diff units that say they fit a 2001 cl non nav which one should i get?

http://blitzsafe.com/catalog/acura/c...03/cat_63.html

If there is a better product that has more features or someone that sells them for less $$ can you guys let me know?

I am mainly interested in the features that work with the stock HU and if it also charges the device. I dont want to have to pull the Iphone out everytime a track i dont like plays to change it I would like to use steering wheel controls.

I DID A SEARCH and some questions where answered but the links where pretty old and tecnology gets old fast thats why I am re-posting this (If it is a repost)

I am buying a new stock HU cuz mine is acting up so when I replace the HU I am gonna add this to it. Or maybee i wont get a new headunit cuz the problems I am having with it is only with the CD's so if i install this who needs cds??

Thanks guys!!

It depends who you talk to. Some will say to go with the Blitsafe others will say Icelink. You can search quite a few threads on it. I was looking to do the same thing. I actually found a cheap Icelink system on ebay and bought it. I hooked it up for a day then decided to go with an aftermarket radio, lol. If you are interested pm me so we don't go off topic into a BM thread.

Here is a good link to get you started:

https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-cl-2001-2003-50/best-ipod-mp3-dock-install-689184/

But if you search, 'blitzsafe', 'icelink', or 'dension icelink' you should get some good hits.

I have the Blitzsafe iPod adapter hooked up in my car. My iphone works with it and charges it but I can't use the steering wheel controls.

Does your Icelink system work with the 3g Iphone?
Will it charge the phone and will the steering wheel controls work?
Do you have enough wire with your system to run it to the center console cup holder?

Thanks bro?

Lemme know...

Can u switch songs and volume on the stock headunit, or do you have to always use the Iphone to change songs?

You can't control the ipod from the steering wheel controls, but I believe the latest update will let you use the iPhone 3G to play music. The cable has plenty or room to reach the center console cup holder. I actually ran it into my glove box so i could keep my ipod in there out of the way. You can change the track and volume from the factory head unit. Just not the wheel controls.
