problems with viper alarm/car

I was talking to a bestbuy tech and he said that the viper 793 can be hooked up to borrow the signal from the fuel injection system. I don't know how these alarm systems are hooked up but after my alarm was adjusted I have had this idle problem that I think I can feel during acceleration. No code has ever popped up but I was wondering if maybe my viper could cause a short in my fuel injection system. He also mention that there were other ways of borrowing a signal of some sort. Does anyone know of any other way this could be done so I can possibly find a fix to my problem. thnx

Wow.... those installers never fail to amaze me. If they followed the correct tech information it would have told them to use the BLUE tach signal wire on the drivers side shock tower. It's in a two pin plug usually with a rubber cap over it.

If connected correctly to the fuel injection wire it should not cause any issues. I have done this many times where the tach signal would not learn any other way. However, if that wire is routed back into the car where it would ground out on something..... it would cause a problem just like you explained. There is no need to connect to the fuel injectors in that car.
