Okay I was referred to this place by a fellow member who told me i could probably get the answers i need here. So i decided to install a remote start on my '05 acura tl but there seems to be a problem with the remote statrter when ever i start it to go somewhere it works fine i get to where i need to go etc. when it comes time to leave this place and go elsewhere i remote start it place the key and when i go to put my foot on the breaks the alarm goes off it is really annoying. also you guys should know that after i had it installed my father moved my car for me and that day he opened the car with the key i don't if this has anything to do with it but if so what should i do? Btw i installed a remote starter by prestige. any info on this will be vastly appreciated.

 

What is the model number of the remote start system? Does this Prestige remote start system have a built in alarm system as well? Or is it the factory alarm system being set off? Also, could you use proper punctuation in your posts please. It is very difficult to read as is.

 

The prestige remote start does have its own alarm system, I think there is a conflict between the car and the prestige starter. As for the prestige model number if it can be found on the remote controls it is has a fcc id:elvatrbb and part no.5bcr07.

 

And is that the system that is being set off? Or is it the factory alarm?

You are going to have to figure out why the alarm system is still armed even after the remote start is activated and wasn't set off by the door being opened, but is being set off sometimes from the brake pedal switch. Use a multi-meter to check all the wires at the brain and make sure they are being triggered properly. Let us know if you find anything wierd.
