Problem with USASpec 04 TSX Navi Install

Ok, so I got the USASpec ipod integrator for my 04 TSX Navi and get things hooked up and everything worked perfectly. I tidy up the install and button everything up, turn the ignition back on to play with things a bit and my stereo does not turn on. The navi worked, AC worked, but no stereo. The small display above the navi was completely off. I checked the #5 fuse and it's fine. I plug the factory harness back and nothing.

So eventually after racking my brain for a bit I start checking everthing else in the car and find the interior lamps not working. I check that fuse (#6) and it's blown. Replace it and the stereo comes back on (needed to enter code). Everything now works just like it should. The iPod works just fine, no problems.

So, why did that fuse blow? Will it blow again? I'm stumped

thx in advance for the help

Did you disconnect the battery before removing the radio. That is a must.

I read the directions and it never said I had to disconnect the battery. Also, I didn't remove the stereo, just unplugged the aux connector.

While diagnosing the problem I did disconnect the battery and still have the problem. I have not blown a fuse since I replaced the one.

I'm also getting some electrical noise through the speakers that was not there before the install. You can only hear it with the stereo off???

Besides that the unit is working wonderfully.

I'll have to check with the HU off part. I noticed it when I had a passenger with me and the volume was all the way down. The noise is definitely an electrical one because the frequency rises with the rpm. It's like I'm not getting a solid ground somewhere.

???
