Red face Problem with eject/loading system on 6-disc changer bose radio

I have an '02 MDX w/the bose radio OEM system. The discs don't always load and/or the radio will not let me select a disc to play. Instead the display reads "ErE1". In fact, the malfunctions have become a steady problem, not getting worse, just constant.

Sometimes the radio just shuts off while playing a disc. I noticed the other day that I was able to get the cd's out of the changer with the car off and just press the eject button. This doesn't happen usually!

Something quirky is going on for sure and any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I got the same problem w/ my '02 TL-S. It's giving me the same "ErE1" along with a "CHEC". Anyone know what gives? All this started when I tried ejecting a troublesome disc...it ejected it but partway. I yanked it out (which I probably shouldn't have) and it's been giving me problems ever since. Any help would be much appreciated and sorry to "air4me" for hi-jacking his thread. The both of us would like this resolved =D

yeah, sorry guys. this is a huge and pretty frequent problem with the bose headunits. you can send it into Acura, but they just charge you 200 bucks to have it repaired if your warranty is out.

ErE1 code

Thanks for the answers. Since I posted this, I'm thinking now the unit may just need to be reset, if that's possible. It seems a possibility the stabilization is messed up because it will stop playing if I hit a bad bump or hard turning. Any suggestions?
