Probably been asked be4 but Please HELP

I have 2 JL 12W3 and a rockford bd1000 amp for those. I have Pioneer 6 1/2 (pair) and 6x9 (pair) powered by a 400 watt amp for the speakers inside. In addition I have a 3 way crossover. I don't want to change the head unit. Is there anything special I need to do. I've heard of adding an adapter but is there anything else. Can I keep the factory tweeters or should I change my front speakers to a component system.

the bose speakers have a different ohm rating than aftermarket amps and speakers. so, if you are going to use an aftermarket amp, i would suggest changing the tweeters too. i don't remember anymore how the stock tweeters sound since it's been a while since i've had them but i changed all the speakers, front and rear and i think it sounds much better, crisper highs, clearer mids and, with a sub, more powerful base (when needed). since you already have the 6 1/2 speakers, just purchase a set of pioneer tweeters and you should be good to go. if you have more funds available, go ahead and get new component speakers for the fronts. i really think it did make a diff!! hope that helps!

Upgrade your front speakers to components is highly recommended. Since you didnt say what kind of front speakers, I assume they are coaxial. This means there are tweeters built-in already. If you just replace the stock with these. Then you are running 4 tweeters. That will screw up everything for good. You have high frequencies travel from different paths that arrive your ears at different time . I would leave the stock components (but with an aftermarket amp to power them, I just get a cheap components) untill I'm ready to upgrade to a decent set. Good luck.

I went to the place where I'm going to get my system installed and I asked them about components for the front. They told be JL Audio would be the best component set to get. If I do get the JL components for the front and keep my Pioneer 6x9's will it sound different or messed up? I'm just not sure of having 2 different brands for front and rear speakers.

Find out the brand and the exact model number and shop ito n Ebay. You'd be surprsie. Just make sure that you buy from someone with tons of good feedback...

IMO, it's okay to have different brands for front and rear. what you'll be hearing mostly is sound from the fronts..... so..... you'll be okay.

Well this is what I'm 90% sure of what I'm going to do. Since the speakers I have from my Legend (6 1/2 & 6x9) are both 3-way. I think I'll save my time and money and use the 6 1/2 I have since they are 3-way and just disconnect the tweeter. Damn why didnt I think of that earlier. Thanks for all the help peoples. I'm gettin it installed probably next week.
