The premium audio system...
Heyyyy. I picked up a 2007 Acura tsx recently. It's got the fully loaded NAVI and premium audio system. Anyhoo, I'm not exactly sure if it's supposed to be like this, but the back speakers are awful. Only the ones on the door (by the passengers feet) work. The speakers in the far back (under the glass, above the trunk) appear to be woofers. People in the back have noticed that it appears... like the sound comes from the front. I looked at the sound options and the front/rear fading was centered. I guess my question is... are the speakers I mentioned above supposed to work properly? Are they simply woofers? Or are there some other options I dont know about?
Yes, the rear 6x9s are for bass / filler only. They receive a poor quality filtered signal. The 4 doors have decent full range signals going to them, as long as you're OK with the anemic stock amp.

PMJI, but the manual doesn't seem to have any info on the speaker locations and purposes. I note that my 2006 TSX sounds a wee bit better with R1 on the fader. But some channels, it sound like the driver's side speakers are out of balance. Is there a document listing the speakers and their specs?
I thought Acuras had superb stereos, but this one's only banal. Maybe I'm just hard to please.

This may be of some help:

I believe its still applicable to the later models.
