please help noob trying to upgrade 2007 tls system

Like the title says im no expert on car audio but i want to upgrade my system. I would like to keep the stock nav and not lose and stock features. My goals are to have much cleaner sound with the ability to have deeper bass in the back. I plan to dynamat the trunk and the front doors to help with rattles. I was planning on doing a custom box ported through the center armrest with a new front stage also. The sub i was leading towards was an 12 or 15 xcon with a sundown 1500dv2 to power it and not sure about the components and center speaker. The shop i went to recommended arc audio for everything and also do my back speakers because if i only do the front then i will most likely blow the back. Anybody have experience with arc? Is the shop just trying to sell what they carry? Any comments or suggestions good or bad are appreciated.

Honestly with car audio and must products whatever the shop carries is what they are going to push.

To get the most bass out of any speaker you would honestly want to put it in the trunk in a vented box to allow maximum airflow. If you choose to put it in the cabin of the car it will pump less bass and more than likely cause more rattle than there already is.

Personally I just bought two of the redesigned 12 inch alpine type-s subwoofers and they hit hard for the money ($149.99/piece.) I power them with a 1000w rms digital amp and love the way they sound. Because I bought the digital amp, you don't need to run the RCA cables from the amp into the radio head unit you simply disconnect the factory subwoofer above the trunk and connect those speaker wires to the digital amp using a low-level converter.

Replacing factory speakers with aftermarket audio is relatively simple as well and can often offer higher performance. Acura's tend to have bose premium audio systems anyways so I didn't bother replacing them.

thanks for the response and sorry if this is a dumb question but you dont recommend porting it through the armrest? i will be going to a few other shops tomorrow to listen to image dynamics, a w7 and w6, and diamond audio, i will be sure to check out alpine as you suggest.
