Thumbs up Please Help Me! Sub questions

Hey everyone Im in the market again for 12'' Subs. Im looking for highend subs. I heard the Kicker Solo-Baric L7 S12L7 Subwoofer or the Jl Audio 12W6v2 Car Subwoofer are the best you can buy now is that true? What would be the top five subs out right now?

You could very well get a bunch of responses and a bunch of different opinions on this question. The install is going to be as much of a factor as which sub you choose. Questions like sealed and ported and how much room you have, one or two subs, what size. All these things need to be considered. There are a lot of really good subs out there and installed properly, can perform great. One thing I will add, in my own opinion, the Kicker subs are not really considered top of the line subs. They will get loud if that is what you are after. But, it sound quality is the biggest factor, there are much better options. In terms of SQ, the Kicker and JL are not in the same category.

i got an FI Q series. Definately best sub for the money IMO. I was not trying to be "cheap" and "money wasn't an issue", but i was comparing the FI-Q to the JL W7, and the price tag on the JL was 3x the Q.

Also depends a lot on what you listen to. I listen to everything, but for things like slayer, pantera, or anything else with fast drum beats the Q keeps up very nicely.

I think the website is ficaraudio.com, if thats not it just google "FI car audio"

I just got the 12W6v2 and 500/1v2 installed last night in a sealed box and its absolutely amazing, almost too much bass if there's such a thing. The bass hits clean and hard, definitely worth every last cent to pay extra for the JL brand. In the end it's up to you on what you want to purchase, but take my word that you won't be dissatisfied going the JL route.
