Pioneer AVIC 700BT Install problem

Ok I spent the past two days taking my CL-S apart so that i could run all the wires properly and do a clean install. There was no way I was gonna pay Best Buy 200 dollars to install something I could do myself. Tested it all today and everything was great! Navi, CD, Radio all was crisp. I got the back seats in and was about to button it up when I figured I should check it to make sure nothing has changed. Turn the car on and nothing... unit won't even come on any more. The lights turn on infront of the unit but then it just turns off. Does anyone have any idea of what the hell it could be? I didn't change a damn thing after I had it all installed...

P.S.
I'll have a great write up to post once I can get this damn thing to work. Would have been counter productive to put together a DIY if i can't get the bastard to turn on...

Did you try resetting the unit?

There's a good chance you pinched a wire when closing it up. I think you'll have to open everything back up and inspect every wire..

That's what I'm thinking. With all those wires it's quite possible. The ones I would check first are the VCC+ and main ground. Did you do the bypass? Maybe the solder didn't hold and wires are hanging off.

If that's not it, you might have a faulty unit. Hopefully you didn't buy from ebay. Pretty much all the vendors on there are not Pioneer authorized retailers and Pioneer won't honor the warranty.

I agree, start testing the wires. Make sure you're getting +12v on the constant and accessory wires, and and ensure a solid ground. That will at least get the unit turned on, all the other wires are secondary.

I believe the Pio's also have an in-line fuse on the +12v batt wire - I'd check that too. Good luck.

That's why it's always good to do a install with the battery disconnected. Even when you're closing things up. Not saying you had anything to do with it but you might want to check if there's any fuses on the actual unit.
