ok i got a hardwire kit and it has a 3m clip that i can clip/snap onto a 14-18 gauge +12v wire. im not very good at this so can someone tell me which wire this might be in and around the fusebox? i have seen the hardwire installs that just put bare wire in with the 30A wiper fuse but this hardwire kit already came with a male spade tip on it (to go with the female on the 3m clip) so it seemed like it would be cleaner to use the stuff that came with it.

well after digging around alot.. i noticed a post about how there are actually 4 spots on the driver side fuse panel (on the inside looking out) that you can plug female spade connectors into. is this better than the 3m clamp / spade connector or the wire / wiper fuse method?

 

i used the power to the power plug in on the dash (the ciggerete lighter) that was a 12v switched power (on/off with the car) very easy to get to.

 

did it reach? i sent it from about the mirror to the driver apillar down past the fuse and its just hangin there until i figure out where to put it and where i want to mount the display. did you mount high or low?

 

sort of related but not really. i had my passport escort 8500 confiscated by the RETARDED PARK POLICE in NORTHERN VIRGINIA. i had the radar sitting in the glove box and NOT ON! just because i blew a .02 and was brown i got arrested but neways......8 months later, i decided to give them a ring and low and behold they still have my RADAR!!!!!!!!!! so im gonna go pick it up in a few hours and then hardwire it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
