The bulb is a 12V 10W bulb. If you buy Polar B1 Hybrid bulbs, it is part# M-16. The bulbs are sold in pairs only.

By the way, when you change the overhead lights above the rear view mirror, change the overhead light in the rear also. Same bulb.

I looking to do something like this but I can't find a really blue bulb that it is bright enough.

Do you have a pic of the M-16 bulb? please post it.

The map light bulbs are 31 x 10mm Festoon bulbs. I'm going to order from www.superbrightleds.com as they have those bulbs in a LED format. Good prices too.

EDIT*******

BTW... they also have 6LED bulbs for your doors, trunk and license plates there too for only $3 a piece. THAT is a good deal.

Let us know how they work.

BTW, if you want to get good diffuse lighting from an LED (which are typically very "pinpointy"), take a Dremel and shave the top plastic "lense" so that it is flat. Perfect diffused light.

1) Carefully pry off lense with a small screwdriver

I have my door lights, trunk and license plate lights replaced with LEDs now. I like the doors, love the license plate and satisfied with the trunk light.

Now I'm getting ready to do the map lights, glove box light, cubby hole light and I'm going to mod my storage bin under the armrest to have a light too.

Thanks Moda_Way
Took your advice and ordered LEDS from the website you posted. I replaced the bulbs in the two front doors and the front and rear dome lights with the Ultra Violets. I'll be able to determine if I made the right choice tonight when it's dark. So far I like it, the originals are just way too bright for my taste. Wish I could post pics but I don't have a digital camera oh well sorry guys. P.S. I'm leaving the trunk light alone because I want that to remain bright even though it doesn't match the interior LED color.

I get that too. It look like they are just slightly glowing but not really on. If I switch it to door setting and the doors are closed they will turn off completly.

I asked a friend who is an electricion and he gave me a resonalbe anwser. He said that when I switch the power off their is still a slight bit of power going through. About enough to drain your battery in about 6 weeks(lucky your battery recharges itself everytime you turn on your car). With any regular light bulb you would never notice because it is not enough power to light it up. However LEDs don't require but a minor amount of energy causing that dimming look. He says it will not affect or kill my battery.
