Ok guys I am done.

after thinking alot and talking to lots of audio people around town. Also even talked to Steve Head, and my question was One Solobaric L7 or 2 alpine Type R 12s. And I made my choice of Alpine. I use to have one Type R 12 and it slamed and just wondering what 2 or them will do in a sealed box. So I bet Shawhite and AcuraX2 are thinking I will wake up and probally change my mind. I sure hope I dont. Now I dont want to pay retail for those suckers and still have a warranty whats the best way to go guys?

I still think ebay is the way to go. Here is an ad that ends soon and comes with full warranty.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...&category=3291

I myself picked up another Kicker 10" L7 Monday and am building the box for it. I will have a pair of 10's powered by the JL 500/1. ME just did a review of the Alpine and they loved it. Said tons of low end. I think you will be more than pleased.

I think with all these top end subs we talk about, we are really comparing apples to apples. Now maybe the JL W7 are the nice shiny red apples whereas the rest are the green but, they all do there job and do it very, very good.

THanx for the link X2, I am not ordering the subs till next week. I just placed an order for 3 amps, a box and a wiring kit yesterday. I picked up RF Power 550x and 500BD for the TL and 300s for the RSX.
So the TL is gonna look like this
Alpine CDA 9815 up front
Type R 6.5 components in front door
Type R 6.5 in rear door
2 12" Type R subwoofer
and Power 550x and 500bd amps

The Rsx will be
Clarion DX535
Alpine Series speakers
Diamond Audio CM3 12" subwoofer
and Punch 300s amp.

X2 tell me how yours car ends up sounding

Shawhite I am gonna e-mail that guy back later on thisweek, I need to wait for atleast 2 more paycheck before I buy anything else.

I think your equipment list should make for an awesome system. Just be prepared to do some heavy cutting for those Type R's in the front. As you know, I gave up on them because they were just too big.

As for prices, ebay has those subs all the time with warranties. I emailed Shawhite's guy about the changer he got and the price was not any better than I could get on ebay. Maybe some things are different or Shawhite gets the good deals.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I got my other box cut out today and will put it together tonight. I am actually making 2 separate boxes for the 10L7's. I will then make a front face plate that will fit over the subs and make them appear kinda recessed and look like one big box. I am also making a top plate to use to mount the 2 JL amps to the top of the sub box. I am thinking about making some grills out of plexi for the subs. Just to keep things from sliding into them.

My front doors are already cut. I use to have 2001 -2002 type Rs in tehre and just blew them a month ago. The new speakers went in perfect they are the same size. The rear doors I will have to cut.

Ok I just installed both my amps and I didnt buy new subs yet so I put my really old Fosgate HE 10 in there. Wow was I impressed at the Sound systems overall SQ. I was thinking about 2 type R 12s and now I might re think that for 2 type R 10s. The sub was gettin 300 watts at 4ohm and can drop to 600 watts at 2 ohm.

Thanks to systek I just gone one L7 12 really cheap from kicker. Thanks man. THe L7 in gonna be in the TL for a lil while and so then I am gettin the Type R 10's. I have a Diamond Audio 12 that I was gonnna put in my RSX but, but someone wnats to buy it. I will put the Solo in the hatch with about 1.25cuft sealed box and will be underpowering it alot. Only a 450 watt amp to it.

HAs anyone heard a Oz audio sub in a car before. I was just reading the review for it and it sounds like one nice sub. It the one featured in Mobile Entertainment.

oz audio has been around for a long time...since early to mid 90's ive auditioned them way back when, and they sounded decent, but i cant say if they can handle what some beasts can do today. u want a quality sub that can bang out some major bass while sounding sweet as well??? look into adire's brahma subs

naw, my car is doing just fine...although i think my trunk lid wants to snap up everytime some deep notes hit

im sure you have seen my roommate's truck http://members.cardomain.com/bill_t25 well, we've been competing and his resonant frequency is 33hz
the driver side door flaps crazily when we run through the lanes to get metered...! he is thinking of devising some type of bolting system that wont damage the paint job on the outside...but i dont think that will help much when we install another 15 and 1200.1

yeh, we are gonna cut his bed and cabin and do a cut through. that way we can build and port the boxes as big as kicker recommends for max spl w/one port, and sql w/a different port.

btw, did i mention that my box is designed thatway??? yep, i got one spl port and another that seals the box for sq. i need to fine tune now(pun intended )
