Newbie needs some help with System Install

Hey guys. Digging the site. Lots of good info here.

Not sure if this has been posted before but any info, opinions or pointers to threads covering my issue would be gretaly appreciated.

I am looking to upgrade the sound system in the TSX. I have an amp and a 12" MTX sub that I am going to install in the trunk. A friend of mine and myself are going to do the install.

1) I need to run the gauge wire to the battery and was planning on running along the bottom door trim under the carpet? Is that what you guys have done?

2) I need to ground it to the frame.

3) We were planning on tapping into the rear speakers.

4) Then running a wire to the back of the stereo to the "remote" wire so the amp turns off when the car is off and turns on when the car is on.

Anything else I need to aware of? Was the dash a pain to take apart to get to the back on the stereo? Were the wires hard to run under the carpet?

Just wanted to get some info from you guys to see who has performed this installation before. I am no techie but my budy seems to know what he is doing. Just wanted to make sure there weren't any common problems with the installation.

Thanks

Do a search.

I can tell you though that you will not have to run any wires under the carpet. Just pull the door sills up on the driver front and back.

umm.. the biggest pain in my opinion was converting the audio wires to rcas. I manually spliced the wires myself which was a big b*tch. I think i ran into some thread on the forum which said that a wire harness exists but isnt color coded correctly or something.
