New Stereo Install problems...

I have a 97' CL 3.0 Premium with the Bose system factory. I just got a new Pioneer CD/MP3 player to install. I got the wiring harness for the CL and wired it to the new CD player. When I plug it in I get power and everything, I just get no sound what so ever.

Wondering if I'm just missing something easy or what. The matching up of wires is pretty self explanatory. All but positive that it is correct. Let me know if there is something I'm missing.

Thank you for the help! I'm glad I found this forum, just got my CL a couple of weeks and I'm anxious to start upgrading things on it.

I did the same thing and got the same result. You'll need a special adapter for your factory system before you can install a new headunit. Your bose factory speakers are 2 ohms, while your new MP3 headunit is designed to power 4 ohm speakers. Try doing a search, as I remember there was another similar topic that went into detail on exactly what you need to get to install an aftermarket headunit with the bose factory system.

your problem should have nothing to do with the ohm rating of the speakers and head unit. make sure you have the right adaptor for you car. they have 2 types of adaptors....another one is for the 98 up CL.

I figured it out guys. It was the fact that I didn't connect the wire to the Bose Amp. It was labeled power antenna so I didn't use it. Turns out that power antenna and amplifier are the same wire

By the way I never noticed this until I got one, but what is the deal with the antenna?
