New member needs clarity re head replacement

I own a 2001 TL no navi with stock CD/Cassette player.
I wish to replace this HU with a double din pioneerFH-P4200MP unit.
What i have learned from this forum is that it can be done, need harness and dash kit
however, sub and wheel controls will not work correct?
2.is there a way to do this so they do work? if not the controls then at least the sub.
3. From what i also understand is that while not neccesarily so, it would be a good idea to replace the speakers and add an amp and a subwoofer as by replacing the HU you no longer have the sub working for you
4.As i know zilch about audio couldnt you just come "out from the HU with an adapter to the sub amplifier and then all the speakers including sub would work. if the answer is no and a total system upgrade is needed (DAMN!!) what would a cost effective path be to get good sound finally gettting great sound without breaking the bank
I alo suffer from a bad HU and CR-R's not playing which is why I have decided to upgrade.

Lastly is there a CD changer that will play MP3's that can be plugged into the existing HU?

This would solve the upgrade problem and still leave me with mediocre sound.
Regards,
Ari (California)
