New Head unit with onstar and navi audio
For those who have a 03 Tl-L with Onstar and Nav and want to keep the audio Nav and onstar audio, a good solution is to use a clarion SKR5. I connected the SKR5 to with an KVT910, Kenwood KAC-650D (5ch amp), and a KDS-P901 sound processor. I installed the SKR5 in the 1.5" Din slot on the new Metra kit. To place the SKR5 in the Metra kit I had to cut off 1/2 of the 1.5 din enclosure.
The audio for Nav and Onstar are on the same mono audio (wires A12&A14) at the HU connector. These 2wires are connected to the SKR5's supplied 50w amp. I split the SKR5 input to accept audio from the KDS-901 center channel output and the Onstar/Nav audio output. When the Navi or onstar is activated the KVT910 mutes the H/U audio including the center channel audio from the DVD, at this time the Navi or onstar audio is sent to the SKR5.
Its a good solution for retaining your Nav/Onstar audio and/or want a center channel for you DVD.
