how many feet power cables and what gauge?

hi guys, I'm preparing to install a sub and amp for my first time. I think I've got a good idea how to run the wires, get the back seat out and tap into the stock amp's wires to use with my amp.

- Now, I'm trying to decide what gauge wire to use for the power wire. The gauge wire seems to depend on the length so can someone tell me the length the power cable would be for my '02 TL?

- I'm running 750w RMS into a 1 ohm load, any suggestions on what gauge to use? Also, there is a 4 gauge wire kit made by Hitronics that comes with my amp...would that be acceptable? I've never heard of that brand...does the brand name even matter or is wire just wire?

thnx!!

TAZ

thnx for the reply...the kit I was going to buy says its power cable is 16 - 18 feet. I wonder if that would be enough or should I try to get 20 feet wires to be safe?
thnx!

16 should be plenty.. unless you want the amp at the back of the truck (very rear of the car)... then you might want to go with 20ft.. also depends on the route you take... the more weaving you do the more cable you will need.. but i think i did mine with 16 ft ...
