Are you talking about the Clifford 5.5x? Is so it will be the mack daddy of alarms. The remote has a menu that you chose functions from plus you will be able to customized two pages. Built in rechargeable battery and at least one mile range. I believe the retail on it will start at $1000.

so basically it is a grand for a standard alarm/remote start, possibly with window automation built in? Sounds like a huge waste of money, especially since i am willing to bet repacement remotes will cost 250 or so and will be as fragile as any other 2 way remote DEI has ever made.

yeah but i have sold all this stuff and installed all as well, and that alarm looks to take the cake given that people will spend the money for the alarms and then cut corners elsewhere in the car to make up for it. The amount you spend doesn't necessarily make it the best, that is my mantra and it has served me well over the years

I am also looking to get the alarm when it comes out because of the 1mile rang mostly. I always like to know if my alarm is going off and when i bring my car to college 90% of the places I will be will be within one mile and sine I have put so much money into my car I would like to know. Some think it is a wast of money and some dont. I am one that doesnt. I knew I was going to mod my car so I put a Viper in first thing. I have also not cut any corners on modding either.

someone agrees

i got big plans and im not going cheap on the security...even though it doesn't do all that much; if a person got his mind set, he gonna take what he came to take. Alarms just gives me a good false hope and prevent the fucking retards from trying to jack

Talked to a couple of places in Houston. They have all heard about it, and have literature to give consumers about it, but have no idea when it will ship or be available. I have 3 shops in town that will call me as soon as they recieve a unit. Im on a waiting list at 3 places.
