when adding a new amp to the cl will u need to rewire the car or can you use the existing wires used to power the amp and speakers?

try using a distribution block to slpit off your power wire i have this done to my car but i think i am changing it back since i think thats why my speakers are giving me ground noise. i have a 4 awg to a dist. to 2 8awg wires and then to the amp but im only using one amp so i have an extra slot but someone told me i should use the 4awg and it should get rid of the noise but havent had time to check it out yet but look into a distribution block

 

You _can_ use the existing wires.. but if you are an audiophile, I'd highly recommend rewiring your system.

 

the existing wire is like 26 or 24 gauge. The insulation will start melting if you use it to power aftermarket amp.

 

run a new power wire from the battery....use 8 or 4 gauge. the stock wire for the bose amp is too thin. as silver says...it will get very hot....of course depending on the aftermarket amp you use. still, better to run a new power wire form the battery. NO! run a new power wire form the battery.
