Arrow Neon Install Help Needed

I want to wire two small blue neon crystal tubes under the front dash. Can someone please give me detailed instructions and if possible install pics on how to do this. I would like to wire them so that I can control them via switch.
Thanks!

Anyway do what you want not what other people want. You can wire them into your fuse panle. Then just tap in a toggle switch

Some people’s minds are so closed about "rice." Neons are the Sh!t. Ok, I ran an extra power line into my car with a fuse for all the neons that I plan on putting in my car. From there I added a switch [actually it's a music sensor that beats to the bass]. The neons are hooked up to the sensor and then secured at any means necessary. At the moment I have them under the dash and in the back seat foot wells. It really isn't that hard all you need is power and a ground.

WARNING: I put neons in my car and it caused my car to have SRS (airbag) problems (see my thread)...the dealership guy says the transformer in the neon tubes creates an electrical field which messes up the frequency of the airbag sensors causing the srs lights to come out..the dealer guy could be bsing....but be very careful and wish u luck that u dont have the same problem i had.

I think the guy was bsing. Pretty much every electrical device puts out a field. Say, you put in a radar detector. It causes a field, but I haven't heard of any srs problems. Might have been b/c of which power line you tapped into.

BTW: Neons are not rice. They are nice.

neon lights

I just installed neon blue lights under my dash (2003 A-Spec) and the next day my SRS light came on..i only wired them to the park lights and grounded them out ...very simple looks great but SRS is on ..dealer told me that it may be the seatbelt harness sensor ...coincidence??i am taking it in on wednesday we will see.

are you trying to use the neon lites as footwell lighting? well you can tap into the dome lite wiring harness that is located on the passenger side fuse box...then the neon lites fade just like the dome lite...pretty koo...oh yeah...you can add a switch if you want to control the neons...but if you want them to turn on without your doors open, you need to add a second ground...just do a search for the wires you need to tap...

i think the dome lite uses a passive ground for when a door is open the circuit is complete then the dome lite turns on...so you need a second ground if you want to turn on the neons w/o opening the doors....i think thats it..read it in this forum a while ago...search for footwell lighting...

the dome lite and the trunk lite uses different wiring harnesses...do you want the neons to be on even with the trunk closed? i only wired 2 "15 tubes to the wiring harness of the trunk lite...so when the trunk is closed the neons are off...i believe if you want the neons on even when the trunk is closed it tap into the power wire of the trunk lite and bolt the ground wire to the chassis and use a switch so that you can turn them on or off...not sure if this works cos i never tired it...btw i unplugged the wiring harness for the trunk lite so that doesnt turn on anymore, just my neons.

let me know how your firey look comes out...cant wait to see the pix...laters
