In-Line Converter Question

I have recently picked up a In-Line converter to convert speaker wire to RCA cables for my system.

The in-ine converter comes with 2 RCA cables on one side and 5 small (14 awg, mabey smaller) wires on the other side. 1-brown, 1-white, 1-white/blackstripe, 1-gray, 1-gray/blackstripe.

the package instructions say the brown is the ground, (I have attached this to the ground on the ground in the stock amp {there are 2 black wire grounds} without cutting the grounds)

Now Here is the Question:

the package gives colors for the other four wires and they don't match the product. I have cut the + and - wires (sub input from the deck going to the stock amp) and I have to attach them to the converter. The converter has a left (+)(-) and a right (+)(-) that's why it has four wires.

1 - Do I connect the (+) input wire to BOTH of the wires WITHOUT the black stripe. Therefore connect the (-) input wires to both of the wires WITH the black stripe.
2- Do I only use 1 set of wires? I am almost postitive that is incorrect, one of the RCA cables would not work.

Thanks for any info you could give on this topic.

Yep did it with both wires and I still am blowing fuses. I haven't even connected the RCA cables to my amp and I still am popping fuses.

- I have no signal b/c I haven't attached the RCA cables to the AMP

- I have a good ground in the trunk, attached to a distro block and to the AMP.

- I have pwr on the power side of my fuse distro block, but if I attach the fuse I can watch it pop in 2 to 4 sec everytime.

- I have taken the remote from the stock AMP (didn't cut it{not sure if I should or shouldn't}) and ran it to the AMP.

My amp will go on but it will pop the fuse quickly and I am going nuts. he he he .

lets see.... you are going to hate me but you might want to check ALL of your cables make sure that there isnt any bare cables making contact with metal (the positive cable) make sure that the ground cable isnt touching the positive cable and or the termenal... if you still pop them well check your amp what i did was ran a cable outside the car just to see if it would keep poping and it didnt then thats what made me check the power cable and thats what it was bare cable touching metal
