Need stereo help
On my Explorer. I have a Clarion head unit running 4 speakers. I am adding a sub.
I get no output from the amp to the sub. I am using the line outputs from the head unit to the amp. I have a #4 power wire from the battery to the amp(60 amp fused) turn on from the head unit, & #4 ground.
I have tested the amp in another car & it works fine.
I have tested the sub & that works fine.
I have used 3 pairs of RCA jacks, all of them worked
I have used 3 pairs of speakers cables to the sub
I have replaced all fuses. (battery, amp, head unit)
I have tried running turn on to the switch wire, & to the battery directly
Amp gain is up all controls on the head unit & amp are at the proper levels
Thinking it was bad line outputs on the head unit, I got a replacment head unit
Clarion says the head unit doesn't have any special setup to turn on the line output.
Clarion said I can power all 4 speakers with the head & still be able to use the line out.
The amp powers up & I hear it click on. Turns off also.
I still get no output from the amp to the sub.
This is driving me nuts.
I'm out of ideas. Can anyone suggest anything else?

Amp only has RCA inputs. No speaker level. The head unit is a Clarion DB245. Clarion says there's no sub on or off function. It has only 1 set of line output jacks. Remote wire is now connected to the standard +12V switch wire from the truck.

The 1 set of RCA outputs from the deck... Is that where the RCA from the amp is connected? The interior speakers if not run on an additional amp, should function through the harness and the set of RCAs out of the head should be run to the amp powering the subs. I'm not too familiar with the head unit but there should be a blue remote wire comming out of the back of the head unit or the harness that also runs to the amp.

Yes. All that is connected right. The speakers work fine. Makes no difference if they are connected or not. I just don't get it. This should be working. It's only my 10th or so stereo install
This weekend my only choice is to get another amp kit & wire it again outside the truck. New fuses, power, ground, turn on, speaker wire, & RCA's.
