yea sounds like you got something grounding out. do you have any accessories hooked up anywhere in the car? lights... etc? factory deck?

Need help retrieving HU code for 6 disc HU

Hopefully you folks will be able to be of some assistance here. I just swapped out a 99' TL single disc HU w/ a 6 disc HU from an O2 (or 03) TL that I bought off of someone from Acura-TL.

Now the problem is I was never given the security code for the HU, and since the HU is now in the car I am without my tunes and I don't want to put the old HU back in (last resort) until I can get the codes for the new HU from the guys that originally sold it to me.

(Problems)
-I have tried to get (1) the VIN from the guy (since I have the serial # for the HU) but unfortunately he is nowhere to be found, and it could be awhile before I do hear from him (if I hear from him at all).

Can anyone provide any assistance here? I have the serial # for the HU, but just don't have the VIN from the original car it came from so I don't think contacting a dealer is going to do me any good.

I hear that you can retrieve the code w/ just the serial # but I don't know if a dealership is going to do this.

Is anyone able to help me out and get the code so I can get a functional HU? I am willing to make it worth your while.

Thanks!!
