Question Need some help on Subwoofers

So I was looking to add 2 12 inch subwoofers to my car. I was searching and found these http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...24-10C124.html and put them inside of this http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI...ectorid=229466 . Are these speakers any good? What size amp do I need? Would you recommend 4 or 6 gauge wire?

Thanks!!

Not knocking those wooofers, name brand is official.

But they are not that powerful, Peak power is the max output.

But you wanna pay attention to the RMS power which was kinda low and that is the watts its gonna play at without any distortion.

And if your going with that box, it will look cool but wont hit as hard. I think those woofers hits loud bass but not the low bass.

Music style, loudness , trunk room , budget, all play a role.

Save your money and get a decent amp and woofers.

Good luck , and May the beat be with you lol

I'm not a big Kicker fan, but those are OK entry level speakers. really depends on how much bass and punch you're looking to get

Well what is your budget? That will decide what suggestions are brought in. I personally don't touch anything main stream when I buy. But I recently bought a car with a db drive set up in it. I am pretty impressed with it.

As the other guy said those subs are not that loud when looking for subs always check the watts rms.

I got 2 Mtx terminator 12" and they sound really good.
Amazon Amazon

Go with the 4 gauge it's your best option.

What speakers would be better for me? I like dubstep and rap/hip-hop....

Like i said, I like these - http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...c=7&zmap=21931 But if someone suggests 2 better 12 inch (under $120 each, and no crazy high watts) suggest them please + link them

EDIT: Also how is this box? http://www.halfpricecaraudio.com/Dua...osure-Gray.htm

Why do you like them? Is it just the price? What are you looking for performance wise? Those are not very powerful speakers, I think that box is overkill

Because I heard they are decent quality, The price is decent, performance wise they seem ok... Im not looking for super duper quality, im looking for something that hits hard and rattles your car, and sounds decent....

What would you recommend?

Mineme! Just go with the Kickers. They sound good and hit hard! You will be happy with them and I have used kicker 12" subs since 1997 without a problems.

You must remember everyone's idea of hits hard and is very loud is completely different. I imagine your idea of hard hitting and loud is my idea of a stock system., Nothing wrong with that just everyone is on different levels.

Op if yoru wanting to add a decent amount of bass sure that will work just fine. For the money it would be ok to purchase.

Still looking for subs? Kicker is overpriced for what you get, just like most mainstream stuff you see. Only mainstream sub worthwhile honestly is the Alpine Type R, and Idk about the new version yet.
RMS rating is the only spec go look at in subs and amps (regarding power, and what voltage is that power rated at, 12v or 14.4 etc). The rms on a sub is usually the amount of power it can take thermally for long periods of time without "frying" the voice coil. Peak refers to the amount of power it can take in short bursts, and should basically be ignored.
Look into Sundown Audio, Image Dynamics, DC Audio, Fi Audio, and there's more.

No offense but those subs will not rattle your car or sound loud. Those are subs that you would put in a cab of a pick up truck. If you want to rattle something, get a 10" sundown. Almost the same price of those two kickers together. (maybe $20 more) but it's worth it. Sundown is one of the best out now. Trust me.

If you're serious about getting some serious Bass just spend some time researching some car audio forums like caraudioclassifieds.org. Like the above poster mentioned, Sundown audio makes great Subs but they aren't the only ones. There is so much out there besides the few mainstream brands you mostly hear about.

After dealing with several brands, I am very partial to Rockford. I am currently running 2 rockford P3 12's and a rockford T-15001bdCP amp and I am always getting compliments on the clarity as well as how hard they hit. They're a little more than your price range but you can find them on eBay for a good price. That's where I got mine. Brand new paid 210 for both and theyve worked beautifully for the past 3 years.

for a single sub setup 1 kicker l5 isn't bad at all, had 1 in an rsx and it was plenty.. (hooked up to a pioneer monoblock 500w rms amp). a cheap and pretty good way to go would be a single alpine type r. i'd recommend the last gen (the silver 600w rms one with the small logo at bottom), pair that with the alpine mrp-650 and have an inexpensive setup that bangs. i'm an old mtx fan though, favorite setup i've ever had was two mtx 7500's and the 1000w rms 8001d amp.
