need mono amp help

I need some help, I am trying to put a single 10 in the type S and no one seems to know anything about mono amps. I have a hifonics bx1000D amp that is one ohm stable, but I don't know what specs of dvc coil to get. If I run a dvc dual 4 ohm in parallel and then "bridge" it into the single channel will that run at one ohm??? or do i need to use a dual 2 ohm speaker that will bridge both coils to one ohm??? Need some help! I am ready to say screw it and just go buy a nice simple two channel amp like I have always had!

If your amp is 1 ohm stable, get a dual 2 ohm sub, and wire the terminals together (+red to +red, -black to -black). That puts the 2 ohm coils in parallel, and gives you a 1 ohm load. If your amp has two sets of terminals (incase they thought you might use more than one set of wires), you can use a set for each voice coil - it'll tighten up the amp's control of the sub by helping the amp keep all of it's damping factor.
