need help making a systemmm

hey i want to throw a decent system in my 2.2CL (97). And i want to keep the budget as close to $800CAN as i can. I can probably pick out a deck but apparently it has to be compatable or able to hand certain subs or w/e so im not sure (something about amp levels).

Anyway if you guys know what a good throw together would be, could you give me some ideas. Im looking for some reeeall good bass and i want to be able to put it pretty loud without worries of messing shit up. As far as amps/subs/power boxes, i have no idea.

It'd be appreciated!

well...

What are your goals other than money? People on this forum will help you a lot, but you have to do SOME of your own work. Here are some starting points:
What kind of music do you listen to?
Looking for more bass, better overall sound, really loud music etc?
Ipod hookup?
Do you need to replace head unit because you want more features (mp3 CDs etc)?

hey, ive been looking into some stuff and talking to some friends but ill answer your questions:
i listen to all kinds of music but country so i want to be able to play my rock, hard rock, and rap stuff. I love the sound of a sick bass riff in rap songs so i want to be able to hear it loud and crisp. I will be gettin a deck with an ipod hookup and that plays cds/mp3s.

As for talking to my buddy, he said hes willing to sell me 2 10" subs for $250 and help me hook them up (box included) and he says thats all ill need (as well as i'll need to buy the new deck). I forget what type of subs they are, but ill get the info from him and post it here. they are new and barely used.

you should almost never buy then straight from the manufacture or big franchises. online or small local car audio shops will usually cut you a deal. should've waited and not rushed.

You probably could've gotten a decent full system for that price! if you threw in another buck or two

I'd say return the Sony amp at the very least and get something like a Hifonics BXi1606D, not sure if your subs are Dual 2 or Dual 4, if its D4 you can wire them to 1ohm and they'll get about 700w RMS (just set your gains properly, the clarions will take 700w fine), or if its D2 wire it to 2ohm and they'll see about 500w RMS)

You can probably get a brutus 1606d for about 120-150$ used, or a new one for about 240 http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=16368 or check ebay.
