Question Navi Conversion

Have anyone successfully installed Sam's product to a '03 TLS? I want to do this mod, but I don't know if this device will fit our '03 TL.
Thanks.

Basically, it's a black box. It will let you watch video on your Navi screen. This product had been sold widely on the MDX forums. Go to this link.

I paid $270 shipped for the best diversity antennaes (4 XO Visions) and the Pioneer GEX-P7000TV which lets you have upto 2 inputs plus a rear output. I can now watch TV with my remote , I am a very happy fish.

Finallly did it!!! I did my navi conversion!!! For those of you interested, I installed Sam's product on my 02 TL-S. It's a plug and play navi conversion unit. It works beautifully! Well worth it!! Thanks to Peiqinglong and Redryder83 that worked until 1am last night! Thanks! Pics coming soon!

yes I have sound. The navi conversion unit comes with a built in RF modulator but don't use that. Get the Blitz adapter for $75. It's worth it! Plugs straight into the back of your deck and gives you an input

I was thinking of getting the GEX-P7000 but ended up getting the one from AVelectronics. I'm pretty happy with mine though. I have a TV tuner too, 3 AV inputs, remote control and good sound from the Blitz Adapter! The diversity antenna isn't too good though, I just ordered another one, hope that works better!

no, you hit the VSelect button on remote to switch back to navigation, the gex unit is always on, since it is the master switch for nav, tv, input1, input2

I was not clear with what I said...sorry....

If I don’t want the gex at all (in my car) could I use all the other parts listed above to watch a DVD?

I just want the DVD function.

You need the GEX unit... it decodes RGB from a dvd player/ps2/xbox so that ure navi screen can display it. Even if you only want to watch DVD, you need the decoder unit.

Either a Pioneer GEX-P7000TV, Pioneer AVC-RGB1, or "samms" unit will work.

GEX is a solution for those who feel familiar with working on electronics. You need to make a circuit board, cut up the wire and solder it to/from the nav connector and so on. There are some chances things may go wrong. I think I spent quite a lot of time for the whole thing. The "blackbox" solution seems to be the way to go for those who just want their navi to display some tv or dvd without much hassle. I consider myself quite skilled in this area, but it took me so many hours to figure things out... so I suggest, if the blackbox lives up to what it claims, then I would go for it. I came to know about that product a little too late- I am now anyway happy with what I got- GEX, Blitzsafe, Panasonic PV-40 DVD player, Sony XM and Infinity powered subwoofer.
