My redone system is BAD!
It was finished around a week ago. I have been enjoying it ever since. It has to go back for some work to the underhood wiring but everything else in the system is done.
The pictures of the system cannot do it justice. This is truly something that needs to be heard and felt in person.
Let me tell you my goals for the system before I tell you about the system.
From the inside of the car I wanted it 100% stock looking. I wanted nothing different at all.
I wanted realistic imaging. I wanted it clear and undistorted all the way to the max level.
I wanted to be able to fit a full-sized stroller into the trunk as well as misc packages with no problem.
I wanted it LOUD with a ton a BASS.
I got it all.

Here is the whole trunk
What this is is 2 Xtant amps. 1 is 4 channel running all the MB Quartz Seperates in the car and the other is the 1001 Mono-Block D-Class Sub Amp. I had the Cigarette lighter unit redone to be the controll knob for the sub level.
The subs are the new Xtant Alum Subs. They are dual Voicecoil. They are in a 4th order bandpass box with the port the excact size of the ski pass. That means that 100% of the bass enters into the passenger compartment. I have no rattles or viberation sounds on the outside of the car at all! I have the port tuned to 6db up at 47hz.
I have been a sealed box fan forever. This is truly my first bandpass box. I am SO amazed. When the system is turned up loud I cannot read street signs.

Headunit
Did you keep the stock headunit? If so, how do get a signal to the Xtants amps?
I know the headunit puts out .5 volts and the Xtants can use a signal as low as 120 mVs. I was wondering if you felt using a line driver was necessary.
BTW,
install.

I thought it seemed like a bad way of doing things. The installer said it just doesn't matter with the Xtant amps. I can turn the volume all the way to the max and everything is clear as a bell. I guess he knows what he is doing.
I am planning my new system I am putting into the new 4.4 X5 I just ordered. It is going to be a complete DVD system with screens in the headrest and all that!

That's exactly how my basslink gets it's signal. Just spliced some RCA's into the wire coming from the head unit, before the factory amp. Works great!

all Xtant X series amps have line drivers built in therefore there is no need to use in line converters/internally there is a five way adjustment for left and right
