My P.I.E HON98-AUX Input Converter Not Working

So I finally get around to ordering and installing my HON98-AUX from P.I.E and I can't get it to work for some reason.

HERE is the one I ordered from Logjam.

I have everything hooked up like I assume it is supposed to be. I hook up and turn on my Mp3 player and hit the CD button on my stock head unit a few times and nothing happens. I've tried other Mp3 players, also.

Is there some easy step I'm missing here, or do you think I have a defective converter?

If it is indeed defective, I can get a replacement from Logjam but I just want to make sure it's not something easy I'm forgetting.

I'm also wondering if it is possible that the plug in the back of the head unit could be plugged in upside down? It is stuck in pretty good so I just assumed it is plugged in the right way, but it is nearly impossible to see it. I didn't think it would even plug in if it was upside down, but I don't know.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks...

Edit: I'm installing it on my 2001 3.2 CL

Go back and read the instructions carefully. Your deck might need to be reset before it will recognize the new input. I've used the HON 98-AUX many times and never had a problem with it. You can call LOGJAM technical support. They are awesome. A very good place to buy from. If it is defective LOGJAM has a great exchange policy.

The directions that come with it aren't the most detailed, so using that and what I've read on AZ is the directions I used. I re-read the direction like 5 times, but it still feels like something else needs to be done.

And I've never heard of reseting the deck, is that something LOGJAM will tell me how to do?

Thanks for the response

You can reset the deck by pulling the "BACKUP" fuse from under the hood. It's a 7.5amp fuse in the fusebox. Passenger side of the underhood. Pull it for 10 seconds. Then turn your deck back on. You'll need the RADIO CODE to turn it on at this point. If you don't have the code... don't reset it.

I had a HON 98-AUX in my Civic. It had a changer plug and a....

OH SHITE.... I sold my Civic and tried to use the HON 98-AUX on my TL. It didn't work. It wouldn't recognize it. I ended up buying the BLITZSAFE HON/M-Link1 DMX V.1. But it only works for iPod. I don't remember getting anything to work for an AUX IN on the TL. Only iPod and CD changer.

I just tried it. Resetting the deck won't work. The HON 98-AUX is not compatible. Return it to Logjam. If you have an iPod just exchange it for the one I mentioned above. If you don't.... I think that you're out of luck. But I would check with the 2nd Gen CL guys.

Hmm, when I first inquired about the adapter I had a lot of people saying that it had worked for them.

Do you know which adapter will work on an 01 CL if I don't have an IPOD?

Just double checking to make sure you didn't misread my post....

I'm saying I do not have an IPOD (I have a Creative), and it looks like that adapter you linked to will not work with anything but IPOD. Correct?

I have an 01 CL-S. Recieved and installed my Neo Auxin Adapter (http://www.neocaraudio.com/product_i...oducts_id=1023) today but I'm getting the same exact problem as you. Pressing the CD button numerous times but it won't switch to the AUX input. The installation is pretty easy so I'm not sure what the problem is, been wrestling with it all day.

I emailed Neo Car Audio support and talked to them but they tell me it should be working. Going to have to mail it back to them this coming week I guess.

I searched a bunch and found several others who had the same problem but with the Dension Icelink but none really posted on how they resolved it, other than one person who instead bought a different adapter (Blitzsafe).

I have a Creative Zen 60gb btw and I love it.

I ended up going with the Blitzsafe and haven't had a single problem with it.

From what I remember, the Logjam and P.I.E. guys were very reluctant to help, said there shouldn't be any problems, and basically sent me in circles even after two of their adapters didn't work. Not to mention a dickhead attitude throughout the whole thing.

So long story short, go with Blitzsafe
