yeah, they have paper cones and are LE SUCK. i suggest testing it out before you replace them and spend $$$ you can just dissasemble the door panel and take a home speaker to see if your getting any signal from the speaker wire themselves. this will help you determine if the speakers are blown or if the wiring is shot.
if you have the blowse system, check to make sure your connections around the stock amp are all working properly and well.

Do you have a stock head unit or an aftermarket? That is very strange becuase the tweeters and the door speakers are on the same channel

Everything is stock. Except I put an ipod adapter on the CD changer input on the head unit.
I don't think it's the speakers because how would they went out at the same time.

I don't remember them going out; I just noticed one day. I don't think they went out while playing.
I didn't realize this until yesterday when I was reading this forum, but this car has an amp separate from the head unit?
If I remember correctly, the head unit has 4 outputs, front l/r and back l/r, right?
If the tweeters are working, then the front L/R output must be working, right? Where is the amp? Could I have somehow blown the non-tweeter front channels? Maybe I just need a new fuse?
Is it easy to get to the door speakers? I can test them.

If you have the Bose system, you have a separate amp. If you don't have bose, you don't have an amp.
As for getting to the speakers, it's very easy. Pull the door panel off (it's like 3 bolts and your done) and the speaker is right in the front of the door.

If it says bose on your head unit then you have the bose, you would have a stock amp behind the carpet in the trunk by the tail light. Could be possible you knocked wires loose when you were messing around behind the head unit also, may want to check all the wires back there in the wiring harness

Ok. No. I have the Matsushita receiver. I guess it's possible I knocked some wires loose, but... they are all in that harness/big connector. Will my car still have wiring run to the back for an amp?

if you have an aftermarket head unit, and didn't have to trigger or bypass the amp, then you don't have one, check the wiring harness

No, thread is in the AV forum, not 1G specific although I thought u posted in our forum first, if it says acura then it's not bose and you don't have the amp so all the wires are right in the head unit harness

Alright. I took the HU out and tested it. There' audio coming out of the front channels. I guess that's obvious because the tweeters work.
The I tapped the wire harness with a 9V battery on the front right channel. The tweeter goes click, but the speaker does nothing. On the back speakers I get a big thump. Der.
So the speakers are blown, or there's some kind of crossover in here that's broken and both sides broke at once some how. It's probably the speakers, right?
How do I get the bottom of the door off easily? I got the speaker grill off, but it doesn't really give access to the speaker.

There are a couple bolts that hold the door on. Here's a step by step from what I remember when I did it:
1. Take the plastic piece where the door handle is out. There's a small tab that covers a screw. Pull that screw out. Now you'll see 2 brass screws holding the door handle assembly to the door frame. Remove those as well. You may not need to, but I've never been able to get the panel off without pulling that part out.
2. In the top front corner of the door panel, there's a plastic "bolt". It pulls straight out, and that's it. There is also 2 bolts in the door handle that you use to close the door. There is one in the top (there's a small plastic cover to cover the bolt) and one in the side (again, a small plastic cover covers the hole).
3. That's all the bolts/screws/ect. Pull on the door panel to get the snaps out/off, then lift up and away from the door, and that's it.
Hope that helps.
