Must See EQ!!! Looks Stock!!! Sorry 56K Users

Hey all, I just got my system installed and it came out wonderful!!! Thanks TopGum for the recommendation!!! I have to show how the Audio Control Three.1 EQ came out, (IT IS A PERFECT FIT), almost looks stock. And the sound is just amazing, I swear I'm going to go deaf (WHAT???) If your think about keeping the stock HU then this is the EQ to get!!!

That looks great!

Too bad I don't have a spot like that to put my eq in.

I can't find a good place for mine at all.

Congrats on a clean install...

That is just too cool. Check you PM as I and others may want more details on a stock upgrade without changing the stock look.

Those with Navi can get rid of the "Not an ashtray, not a coin holder" thing and the power outlet to put your EQ there.

This applies to anybody w/out nav who wants to keep the stock HU but upgrade from that point forward! Any 1/2 din EQ will work equally as well ... just gets to a matter of preference. What makes this whole thing work is the other "goodies" ... some obvious, some hidden from view.

1/2 din EQ but they will have diff dimension...The 5Wx6.5Dx 1H will work perfect...also look for EQ with highest s/n ratio (100 and above...the more the better)

How much was that AudioControl Three.1 EQ costs anyways?

Damn Thanks everyone and sorry it took so long to reply!!! Yeah it's the Audio Control Three.1 and it ran me $200 brand new!!! It is amazing, if your keeping your STOCK HU! You really don't need to replace it at all because the sound is crystal clear!!! I would have it professionally installed unless you really know what your doing and Bypass the stock EQ. It has all the Bass control that anyone would need. It has 3 outs (high, low, Bass) I'll have to take a pic at night, but it lights up green nicely!

For us, CL-ers there is no stock EQ to worry about. Only the TLs have the stock EQ.

I also have a pic of my EQ sitting in that slot on a CL-P in the sticky for a while. Mine is Clarion PEQ460.

Where did you get the RCA outputs from the stock deck for the EQ? I am an Accord V6 owner, so plz forgive my ignorance on this one.

Are there any good digital display EQs that'll fit in there also, instead of having one with all the knobs? I just like that look much better and you can have different presets too.

The way I did it was to use the Soundgate LOCB, which is designed to be inserted between your factory HU (at the factory HU, not near the amp) and any aftermarket components. By splicing into one set of outputs (front or rear - your choice) from the HU, by way of the LOC you convert from line to RCA, and from there you connect to your other components just like if coming from an aftermarket deck.

Rod -

I think your only options are either knobs (like this Audio Control, Clarion, Eclipse, Kenwood, and one Alpine - these "usually" seen to be of the parametric variety) or sliders (as is my Apline), which are more precise in their positioning of the +12/_12 db boost/cut range. Haven't seen anything digital, and in fact the manufactures seem to be steering away from the 1/2 din eq's in favor of DSP's which are much more flexible but are closer to DIN sized head units.
