MP3 Player?
Anyone put in an aftermarket mp3 player in yet?
I want one that will show song names etc., the usual stuff.
What units offer the best features and esthetics to match the TSX? Will I still be able to use the factory stereo for regular CDs and radio?
Any help is appreciated.

There is a factory MP3 player you could have had it installaed when you bought the car. Or you can buy it here

Reports are that it DOES NOT display ID3 data. The factory display is similar to the cd changer. Each sub directory looks like a cd and each file in the subdirectory looks like a track. It be interesting to see the display if you have 50 sub directories.
I thought hard about it but without a better display seemed to spoil it. Instead I went with a Sirius unit, the new Kenwood K2A which fits in the bin below the radio with room to spare. Still using a FM modulator waiting for a plug and play aux in solution.
To me it's more enjoyable to let others pick the tunes and without commercials the Sirius is better than I expected. I haven't tuned into a FM station or listened to a cd since I installed it several weeks ago.

mp3 on navi screen
If one wants to have mp3 selection on the navi screen its possible. I have modded xbox in the car which allows me to play mp3, wma, cd, dvd, mpeg, avi, etc. I'll put up a screen shot later. one of the kool thing is you can have screen saver while playing mp3. Its pretty kool for the buck u'll be spending. You'll have all this plus tv. You'll need tv-tuner & modded xbox.. But this is money well spend. In my opinion.

But I don't think you have file access through the touch screen. Am I supposed to select mp3 titles using a game controller. No thanks.

its your money, car & choice. But you would rather have no dispay for stocked mp3 or have small screen display with other mp3 players than to use controler. Besides you will not have the kool screen saver :-) not to mentation other goddiesss game, movie, dvd, etc.. good luck with the mp3 unit that you go with...

If you are correct about the video unit having a VGA in connector I can plug in a c and use a wireless mouse to control a simple MP3 player and play vcd or mpeg from the pc. I'm still not certain there is in fact a VGA in connector. THere is no mention of it at http://www.avelectronic.com/products.htm

There is no input for VGA..., but there is a s-video input (sorry for the confusion) in navi-tv tuner. Most laptop has s-video out. or you can get this http://www.monitoroutlet.com/999876.html ?? 2 do the same trick ;-) I'll post pic of the computer screen with navi this weekend. Quality isn't all that good. You'll see ;-)
