More BASS in the ride!

The sound system in the CL is pretty tight but I NEED MORE BASS. Me and my boy were gonna install an amp (2 channel, hi/low input 300Watt) and one 8" Tube in the trunk just for a little added BASS.....I don't need that much.

Can I add the BASS without affecting the factory speakers?
My CL is a lease. Does anyone know how I can go about doing this the SAFE way?
Anybody encounter any weird problems adding just bass?
Or any tricks getting to the back of the radio? Holla Back

If i was u i would get somthing like a INFINITY Bass link it has everything a 10 inch sub in a really small box and a 200 watt amp and it is really easy to install.(you don't have to get to the back of your deck)www.thezeb.com has it for only $259.31. and with this setup it will not affect your lease.

I just got some bass!!!!!!!! I got an Eclipse 88100 10" Aluminum Sub, and a Directed Audio 600D mono sub amp. Exactly the sound I was looking for not too loud but clean and smooth with good lows. Only thing is that I'm going to have to Dynomat my trunk, but no biggie. Total price with install and a 1 Farad Cap and custom sub box: $1250 @ Quality Auto sound in Denver.

Don't get the Infinity Bass Link, I was like you, I just wanted a little base nothing extreme, so I went out and got the Infinity Bass Link. I had my friend install it and it sounded horrible. You couldn't tell if the BassLink was on, No difference from stock. I then went to my brother house and told him to get into the car and to hear the Bass Link. He didn't notice a diffirence either. I was like WTF what a waste of money. About 2 weeks of evaluating the Bass Link in my car, I said screw it, and I returned it and bought me dual 10" with a band pass box..much BETTER!

So the moral of the story don't buy an Infinity Bass Link in my opinion. It was just a waste of time, luckily I was able to return the BassLink.

Go with a seperate sub and amp!

I've got a MTX Blue Thunder 10", and a Rockford Fosgate Power 150 amp. THis is not a big power setup, but it rocks! I also installed an Alpine sub volume control so I can set as much bass as I want!

I am in the minority here, but I installed the Infinity Bass Link in my CLS, and I like the way it sounds. I was not looking for the kind of bass that some people have that you can hear from inside your house, but I wanted something that I could "feel" inside the car. The Infinity Bass Link does that with no problem.

For those that said that they could not tell any difference between the bass from the stock speakers, and the sound from the Bass Link, I have to question whether they had it install correctly. I have to keep the gain on about half, or the Bass is way too strong. I get a very deep bass, something that was never possible from the stock speakers.

The install was pretty easy. The only hard part was running the lead power wire from the battery, through the firewall, under the carpet, and into the trunk. The firewall part took me a while. Other than that the instructions were strait forward, and fairly simple.

Oh well, different likes for different types I guess.

Just my 2 cents

I just installed two 10"s with a Kenwood amp. It sounds perfect; i wasn't looking for anything overwhelming. I found that i had to turn the gain down in order for the 10's to mesh well with the current Bose system. But once you have the gain dialed-in the system sounds rich and tell you the truth "appropriate". Another thing, there really wasn't any car modifications inorder to install the system. If you like, i can send you some pics.

I think something like the Infinity Basslink would work for you, particularly in a lease set up. Heck, if you really need to you can open the ski hole ine back seat to port the bass. Of course it's not gonna pound like component subs would, but if you are looking for bottom fill this should work fine.

All you have to do is go to a decent shop and ask them if they know how to find the line out from your HU. Any body with more than a week installing experience should be able to find and splice into it without damaging the wires. I spliced into mine and added a Pair of RCA's to run to my amp. I still have the 6 disk in dash changer but i have 2 12" subs in the trunk now cost me about $75 for all the materials (already had the subs and amp).

Peace.
