Metra Kit matched to 2003 TLS Dash

Sanded my new Metra install kit with 1500 wetsand decided to try and paint to match dash. Found the pefect color match at Lowes, after 6 coats of color sprayed it with matte clear 8 coats. Wetsanded it again with 1500 to match dull finish of dash.

I havent yet installed it just collecting the rest of my equipment. I will post pics when it is finished nut i dont know when that wil be. The color is Rustoleum metallic finish #7250 black night metallic and the clear is American accents Matte clear top coat #7902. The part numbers are for lowes. Like i said i sanded down the textured finish on the metra kit. Started with 220, 400, 1000, then 1500 all wet sand paper. Then i painted 6-8 coats of color let sit for 40 minutes the 8 coats of clear with the last coat being slightly thick. Let the whole thing dry for an hour the wet sanded the kit with 1500 with alot of dishsoap. You can see when you have knocked down all of the clears shine and that is when youll see the color match. I have tried mixing paints at the body shop and this is the closest i can get with the same texture finish as the dash. The color is a c@nt hair off but it looks damn close for me and i wouldnt be installing it if i werent satisfied with it!

I also wet sanded mine and painted it with Rust-oleum flat black spray paint. I didnt put any clear on it and it looks 99% like stock. Much better than that crappy one I had before...I will post a new updated pic in a few days. thanks to fsttyms1 for the sanding tip.
