Matching speaker grill cloth?
Matching speaker grill cloth?
Has anyone successfully found matching grill cloth for the tan interior? I need to cover my horns under the dash. Also, I'm going to rip out the rear deck trim piece and replace it with grill cloth. With the two subs running at low frequencies in the trunk, I'm experiencing large displacements in the rear deck trim piece causing odd flapping sounds. The 10' OEM sub is removed to assist with venting the bass into the cabin. I want to open the rear deck up some more and allow more sound to vent in. I should be able to turn down the subs at that point and hopefully this will quiet the rest of the interior. The sun roof mechanism makes noise, the headliner makes noise, the dash, etc. I wouldn't say I have too much bass, I would say it's all in the trunk and needs to be let out.
ou sig,
did you remove the OEM sub? Do you have a sunroof? Did you remove the headliner to dynamat? I have two JL12W6v2's with 500W to each. I have yet to realize full power with this setup. I have about 40 lbs of dynamat throughout the doors and trunk. This has really made an impact on the sound quality, but the headliner might need to come down for a quick sound proofing.

Yes I removed the OEM "sub" and all our cars have sunroofs. I did not remove the headliner, I was afraid of it going back on right...Ive seen new cars do this and the liner starts to sag really fast. Ya your system is more powerfull than mine, so I can imagine the vibrations. If you havent put dynamat on your rear deck, that will make the biggest difference by far. Open your little pass through, this will let alot of more sound come in. I put my capacitor there to I can watch it and I get some extra sound in.
ou sig,
I figured all of our cars had sunroofs. My pass through is blocked by the sub amps and cap. If you can imagine, I've got two sub amps, cap, 4 channel amp, x-over, eq, and two sealed enclosures in my trunk. There is still a spare tire, jack and tools, and enough space for two large suit cases. I just found my digital camera. I'll post a picture of the trunk and dash if your interested. I've had several issues with the console for the stereo and bass processor. I went with the ABS wood trim. I'm in the process of adding several coats of lacquer to match the gloss of the factory trim. Pain in the ass! It all looks pretty good though, and I can return everything to stock in a day.
