Hey, I'm a n00b to this site, etc.....and I'm just wondering for a 1999 2.3 CL, what the stereo make is. i know that the 3.0CL released that same year had Bose, and that is what I'd like in a 2.3 (which I am going to look at in a week) that I might buy....but nowhere on the internet that I've found as of yet states what make the stereo is. like, is it bose? how many speakers are in it? what's the power output of it? etc. ANYTHING you guys would be able to answer would be MUCHLY appreciated! thanks!

 

Bose usually only makes the speakers and then either the amp or an EQ module between the HU and the amp.

THey don't ever make the head unit, even if it says bose - part of their licensing program. Dlephi makes the GM Bose HUs, Clarion the Nissan Bose Hus.

I know Panasonic has done a lot of Honda OEM work. Alpine used to do the indash HUs but I don't think they do them any longer.

The speakers I've taken out of carsious cars of that era did not have an OEM mark on them (unlike the TSX OEM's which are marked Pioneer on the back).

 

awesome! thanks i've called various dealerships and stuff.....and none of them seemed to know. so...as per what you said, I'm assuming that the speakers are bose and then the hu is just some other make (ie: panasonic or pioneer or sum'n). anyways...thanks for the help !
